Cooper Winter Break Camps
Winter Break Fit & Fun Camp:
Give your kids a Winter Break they'll remember! With everything from sports to non-traditional camp-style games, this camp will keep the kids off the couch and working on their social development. Each day is different and could include soccer, basketball, kickball, relay races and more!
Winter Break Basketball Camps at Cooper include:
- Fundamentals Camp
To build the fundamentals that make a great player, the three-day basketball camp concentrates on passing, dribbling, shooting and position development in scrimmage situations. Basketball Pro Coleman Crawford is the referee and coach, helping the players develop game strategy.
- Super Star Camp
This three-day camp is designed to help young players learn to apply their fundamental skills in game scenarios.
- Shooting School
Designed to help players perfect their shot, this three-day camp incorporates drills to improve shot technique and to learn how to shoot off the dribble, pass and screen.

Thanksgiving Camp at Dallas International School
This three-day camp before Thanksgiving will give
your children and Teens the opportunity to choose from a wealth of activities and have fun.
The camps are offered in the morning and in the afternoon, with a 30 minute (12:00-12:30)lunch break in between.

Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation
Holiday Craze is a recreational day camp program operated by the Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation Department. Holiday Craze is open to children ages 6-12 years (as of October 8, 2018). The program meets from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center, located at 14050 Heartside Place. A total of 100 children are accepted for each session. The program includes on-site activities, entertainment, field trips, and much more! Call 972.247.4607 for additional information. Dates are based on the C-FBISD school calendar and are subject to change if the school calendar changes.
The Dallas Stars Try Skating for Free Program is a free program for participants of all ages who are interested in learning how to ice skate. Each session during the program, participants will receive 30 minutes of instruction with trained coaches to begin learning the basics of skating.
Skaters will have the opportunity to skate for free during the public skating session held on the day of their class in order to work on their skills and spend some time getting comfortable on the ice.
Learning to skate is easy and fun! It requires a little determination and a lot of practice. Whether your goal is to learn to skate backward or spin really fast, we've got the place for you to start!
The new Goldfish Swim School in Carrollton offers family open swim times - weekdays and weekends. A great activity for winter break for you and your family!
Goldfish Swim School is a state-of-the art swimming facility dedicated to teaching children as early as 4 months how to swim. We are much more than a swim school and pride ourselves on offering each parent and child a Golden Experience. From the moment you walk in the door, you enter a tropical oasis. Brightly colored walls, tiki cabanas and surfboard benches surrounding our island-style hair drying station border our pool abuzz with the sounds of kids kicking and hands-on swimming instruction.At the pool deck, kids dive into an always tropical 90-degree pool. In a class size of no more than 4 children to 1 swim instructor, children master the skills they need to be safe and confident in the water. Beginning as early as 4 months, children progress through a series of perpetual swimming lessons. Goldfish also offers special events like birthday parties, family swim, accelerated Jump Start Clinics and our Goldfish Swim Team.

While the kids are out of school, the Perot Museum will offer winter Discovery Camps to keep young minds churning and learning.
“Light Explorers” (K–4th grade): Light up your curiosity and explore how science and art can be an electric combination! You will learn about optical illusions, circuits, and mirrors, then use neon, black light and fluorescent designs to help you discover the fun you can have with light! 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

MJP Holiday Speed & Agility Camps are designed to work with athletes of any sport in the mechanics of linear speed, agility and multi-directional quickness. Focuses on acceleration, improving maximum velocity, and the correct technique needed for sprinting and running. Athletes will learn the appropriate movement patterns necessary to have a more explosive first step and improve top-end speed.

Since majority of the schools are closed for the first week of January, we will be offering several 3-day workshops in parallel during the break (Wednesday-Friday, January 2-4, 2019) at UT Dallas campus. Morning session will run 9am to 12noon and afternoon session will run 1-4pm on each day. Students can be dropped as early as 8:30am and picked up as late as 5pm. Earlier drop-off or late pickups can be arranged with additional fee.
